How do I setup the Popup Section with a Sticky Reminder?
This document provides a comprehensive guide on how to set up popups in your store to effectively collect customer emails and promote specific pages, products, or collections. Follow the steps outlined below to enhance customer engagement and drive conversions.
1. Setting Up the Popup to Collect Customer Emails
To begin, navigate to the Theme Editor and select the Popup section in the settings side panel.
Ensure that the Disable for account holders option is checked. This will prevent the popup from being displayed to customers who are logged into their accounts on your store.
Insert your desired content, including a heading, text, and an image.
Make sure the Enable Newsletter setting is enabled and that an email input field is visible.
Remove any content from the Button Label and Button link settings, as these will not be used in this case.
Select Save in the top right corner to save your new changes. Email signups will be added to the Customers section in the Shopify admin.
2. Setting Up the Popup to Promote a Page, Product, or Collection
To set up a promotional popup, follow these steps:
Navigate to the Theme Editor and select the Popup section in the settings side panel.
Uncheck the Disable for account holders option if this promotion applies to all customers, both new and existing.
Insert your desired content, including a heading, text, and an image.
Disable the Enable Newsletter setting.
Select your desired page in the Button link setting and create an appropriate Button label to describe it.
3. Adding a Sticky Reminder for Additional Engagement
To provide an additional nudge about your popup's call to action, you can add a sticky reminder:
Select + Add sticky reminder below the Popup section in the settings side panel.
Set the contents of your Reminder label to reflect your popup's call to action.
The sticky reminder will appear after the popup is closed by the customer, with the same delay. For example, if your popup has a 10-second delay, the sticky reminder will show up 10 seconds after the popup is closed.
By following these steps, you can effectively set up popups that not only collect customer emails but also promote your products and enhance customer interaction with your store.
